Nicholas Binge is a bestselling author of speculative thrillers, literary science fiction, and horror. His work has been translated into eleven languages and has been featured in The New York Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, The FT, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, and more.
His first novel, Professor Everywhere, was selected as a prize-winner by The Proverse Prize for Literature in Hong Kong. Ascension, a New York Times Editor’s Choice Pick, was named a best book of 2023 by Vulture, Goodreads, The LA Times, and The Sunday Times, as well as being a finalist for the 2023 Goodreads’ Choice Awards and the 2024 Ignotus Award for Best Novel.
His latest novel, Dissolution, came out in March 2025 to wide critical acclaim. It is also being adapted into a major motion picture by Sony Pictures and Temple Hill Entertainment, with the script penned by Oscar-nominated Eric Heisserer (Arrival, Birdbox, Shadow & Bone). His next book, Extremity, will be released September 2025.
Binge has lived in Singapore, Switzerland, and Hong Kong, and is currently based in Edinburgh, UK. Outside of fiction, he has written for The Guardian, Literary Hub, and CrimeReads, amongst others. When he’s not writing himself, he also lectures in creative writing at Edinburgh Napier University and is co-host of the Binge Reading Book Club podcast. He is an active member of ESFF (Edinburgh Science-Fiction & Fantasy) and can often be found at book festivals and events around Scotland and the rest of the UK.
